Gary's Funeral

I forgot to mention that Gary's funeral will be Saturday, 1 PM, January 25th at Fourth Memorial Church: 2000 N. Standard Street, Spokane, Washington.

I got the news from Nick. I was shocked. I don't know how to feel. Gary was part of Mosaic from the beginning, from before the beginning. It is ironic. According to Art Cosgrove, they had been studying what it would be like to go to heaven when we died in the last small group that Gary was in. Well, he certainly knows what it is like now.

He was supposed to teach the following two life community group sessions. He was also going to preach coming up on February 22nd. God's plans change everything.

Gary will be missed, but those of us who knew him even a little (that would be me) knows he is happy where he is at and that God's timing is perfect and not always so inscrutable.

Gary has spent the last few years healing over past wounds in Grace Groups. For those of us who have taken part of that journey with them, we got to see part of the transformation in his life. We saw with awe as it appeared that God was preparing Gary to be leader in Grace Groups, one who would facilitate healing for others. But in fact, it appears that God was preparing Gary to enjoy heaven that much more.
